LIGHTER, SHARPER, MORE ADVANCED: YZ250F
The chassis comes straight from the outstanding YZ450F that won numerous MXGP and Supercross races in its first season. Featuring revised geometry, a new rear suspension linkage and revised factory settings at both the front and rear improve traction on corner exit, taking the YZ250F’s renowned agile handling to the next level on track.
Compact bodywork featuring ultra-slim shrouds as well as a much flatter seat, including a single-piece for rapid weight shifting. There’s also a high-efficiency air management system and revised ECU offering a smooth and controllable response in the bottom end and top end performance. The exhaust has been redesigned to produce a lower sound level, meeting latest noise regulations.
Features
Bilateral aluminium frame
The latest generation YZ250F uses the same frame design as the MXGP race-winning YZ450F. With a lower head pipe and revised tank rails this lightweight bilateral aluminium frame’s improved handling enables you to corner faster and smoother. The lower centre of gravity and reduced weight make the YZ250F more agile than ever – and the revised balance of rigidity and YZ250F-specific engine mounts give plenty of feel and feedback.
Optimized rider ergonomics
The rider triangle accommodates riders of varying sizes and physiques, offering better ergonomics with enhanced rider mobility and increased controllability. And the side panels give a tighter and lighter look, while the front fender improves airflow to the radiators for consistent cooling.
Responsive top-end power
The YZ250F is already regarded as one of the most competitive and responsive 250cc 4-stroke engines in the low to mid-rpm range. The latest rear duct air-management system together with a reprogrammed ECU boost the top-end engine performance, making this Motocross Grand Prix race winning machine even more competitive for every rider.
Efficient air-management
The high-rpm engine performance has been lauded by the press and owners alike, and the body width is kept to a minimum by the efficient air-management system that channels fresh air from the rear through the spaces between the fuel tank, frame, seat and sidepanels. When it reaches the lightweight airbox the air is pre-cleaned by a vortex that throws particles to the side, reducing air cleaner clogging and making routine maintenance easier.
Revised suspension settings
The YZ250F’s KYB front forks are widely regarded as being amongst the best in class, and the latest generation bike features revised fork settings as well as a hand-adjustable compression damping adjuster. The link-type Monocross rear suspension and KYB shock with new suspension linkage for increased traction on corner exit also runs revised settings.
Modified exhaust to meet 2025 FIM regulations
The YZ250F’s exhaust system has been modified to meet the FIM’s 2025 noise regulations, while retaining the bike’s renowned controllable power characteristics and ride.
Low friction cam chain
The YZ250F’s reverse-head engine is equipped with a low friction cam chain that is designed to accommodate the increased top-end power.
Lightweight components
Yamaha’s designers have focused on saving weight wherever possible while maintaining the YZ250F’s reliability and durability. Significant weight reductions have been made to improve power to weight and handling capability.
Top-spec details
The YZ250F boasts top-spec details including aluminium tapered handlebars secured to four-position adjustable handlebar mounts and wide 55mm foot pegs.
Advanced traction control and launch control systems
The 2025 YZ250F is equipped with the latest electronic technologies that give you the highest levels of controllability. The launch control enables you to set your maximum engine launch rpm when the gate drops for holeshot winning performance. And the traction control system offers two levels of assistance as well as an OFF function.
